Mac vs. Benefit
Highlighting is currently taking over the Countour, which I beleieve people are now calling "strobeing", so I have been on the hunt to find the perfect highlighter. I currently have two highlighters which I use the most which are High Beam by Benefit and Mineralize Skinfinish by Mac which I am looooving for different reasons.
Benefit High Beam
Benefit high beam has to be my favourite liquid highlighter, ever! I love the pearly tone it has to it and the easy to apply built in brush it has. I have re-purchased this product so many times, although it does last ages, I clearly use a lot of it! The only negative of this highlighter is that I have found sometimes it does lift my foundation in patches if applied on top of my makeup as I blend the highlighter in wish a sponge which sometimes causes the foundation to lift. For this reason, I have found that this highlighter works best with less makeup, perfect for holidays on top of tanned skin. It is also perfect for those smaller areas such as on the brow bone again because of the built in brush for precision.
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish
After experiencing problems with my liquid highlighter (mentioned above), I decided to try a powder highlighter. I was in Mac restocking my foundation and eye spying a few new lippys, I asked the girl to recommend a highlighter for me. No surprise she suggested their best selling highlighter in 'Soft and gentle" ... And I can see why! It is similar to colour to the High Beam, again in a pearly colour however can be used lightly or intensely for the desired look. As this was a powder highlighter, it sits on top of my makeup lovely and does last all day. Only negative with this Is that I found it hard to apply to my brow bone and found myself still using my liquid highlighter for that.... However definitely my new favourite product for my cheeks as I am able to use it every day and intensify it for an evening
